After, I soaked the ring in jewelry cleaner to remove any remaining cream residue, brushed it and rinsed it off thoroughly. Sand the surface to a 600 finish by starting with a #4-cut file for high spots, then follow that with a #6-cut file before finally switching to sandpaper.
