Now take the other end of the extension cord under the truck with you and to a OHM/Resistance check of the cord. WebJul 14, 2024 · The original block heater pulls about 8.3 Amperes (1000 Watts at 120 Volts AC). A standard timer will suffice. They are nromally rated at 15 Amperes. I got mine at Target when I bought my truck in 2000 and it's working fine. I need about two hours minimum at 0*F to actually make a difference in starting.
