WebbHistone antibodies are autoantibodies that are produced by a person’s immune system from their histones. What ANA pattern is associated with drug-induced lupus? Antibody Assays Test for the presence of antinuclear antibodies, which can appear in a homogeneous pattern in as many as 90% of patients with lupus erythematosus. WebbThese antibodies can cause narrowing of blood vessels, leading to blood clots in the legs or lungs, stroke, heart attack or miscarriage. The most commonly measured aPLs are lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin antibody, and anti-beta2 glycoprotein I. Nearly 30 percent of people with lupus will test positive for antiphospholipid antibodies.
WebbLow globulin levels in the blood signify a type of protein deficiency in the body. Scroll down to know all about this condition. Globulin is one of the serum proteins, the other one being albumin. Globulins include gamma globulins (antibodies) and a variety of enzymes and protein molecules that act as carriers. WebbSimilarly, antinuclear antibodies can be present in patients with scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease, and dermatomyositis or polymyositis.

However, I've had negative ANA tests on occasion and the negatives were not consistent with my clinical state at the time. I was told by my doctor that medication can cause the negative results. Don't despair.
WebbTesting for autoantibodies to total histones is useful for evaluating patients suspected of having drug-induced lupus erythematosus (LE).
