WebI've never camped there during the winter but I love the June Lake area. June Mountain is a fun, albeit small compared to Mammoth, resort. June Lake brewery is pretty good. Mammoth is only 25ish minutes away, etc. I've seen a lot of people car camp in the parking lot as well and they don't seem to get hassled. Anyway, my two cents.
