WebbWe review the literature, from 2006 to 2024, focused on the teaching and learning of chemical bonding. The studies included in our review (48 studies set in 19 different countries overall) involved secondary and postsecondary students as well as K-12 teachers and university faculty. Webbbonding-focused research literature, highlighting alternative conceptions about chemical bonding from four key studies that explored high school and undergraduate students’ ideas about bonding. Following this, in 2006, Ünal et al.60 conducted a more extensive thematic review of students’ ideas about chemical bonding.
