The main purpose of an SFRA is to provide the information needed for a planning authority to take flood risk into account when making land use allocations and determining planning applications. WebIn July 2007 North Dorset District Council commissioned consultants to produce a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) Level 1. This was commissioned jointly with four other local councils in the Stour and Avon catchment areas; Bournemouth Borough Council, Christchurch Borough Council, East Dorset District Council and Salisbury District Council.
