Epoxy primers seal the weather out and can safely be left exposed.. When you're ready it can be scuffed and coated with 2K primer/surfacer to prepare for paint. I just looked at a Bulletin from the Skyco Co. that stated that a good quality oil based primer will give good results and that you should do a trial test if using epoxy primers. It looks to me like the oil based primer is the recommended primer to be used.
