I paint the stock with sand color 3 light coats letting dry between them. Then I take a plastic mat that is used for needle point or cross stitching with yarn. WebMay 23, 2024 · Most paints actually take a day or two to full gas out. Be patient, use lighter coats of both primer and paint after a thorough sanding and proper cleaning. Remember a lot of stocks have tons of oils and solvents soaked into them. Hydro dipping is by far the easiest and best looking way to go. From what I've read so far the best method is to wipe it down with acetone, lightly sand with 600 grit, and rattle can it with Krylon fusion, then top coat with satin clear.

WebMar 20, 2024 · I painted my AAC-SD factory hogue stock and put in DBM to use for hunting only since the stock is very light. Everyone said hogues are hard to paint, so of course i had to give it a shot. I got paint in the action screw holes and it made a mess as well as where the action sits in don't paint anything inside. Remove stock and wipe down good w/acetone.
