Thus, “The Quarrymen” no longer felt like a fitting name since the group was not made up of Quarry Bank students anymore. They decided to come up with a new name. The Quarrymen booked a recording session on 12 July 1958. They recorded straight to disc, as tape would have been an extra expense.
