Often, it is worth taking a different approach to neurotypical teaching methods in order to support kids on the autism spectrum with their social skills, language, and communication. WebRespect the patterns. Children on the autism spectrum tend to thrive on repetition and routine. Teachers can help make a student’s educational life as stress-free as possible by understanding the child’s routine and sticking to it as much as possible. Doing so could very well prevent a tantrum, meltdown, and unnecessary stress.
